Spain is known for its ample leisure time. Here on the Azahar Coast you will not be disappointed by the variety of available activities. The beach is 7km from the Los Naranjos Academy, a quick bike or car ride away. You will find charm in the Los Naranjos Café (located below our Burriana academy), where you may sit and study, websurf or chat with the locals for hours on end. And, off course, you will also enjoy meetings and dinners with Spanish people to mix with them and practice your Spanish in real situations of communication.
Nearby Castellon offers shopping, historical sights and beaches, not to mention the hopping night life and an exceptional selection of restaurants. In early spring, Castellon hosts its week long fiesta ¨Magdalena¨ which offers a wide variety of daily tapas and wine consumed outside at portable tables. Other fiesta activities include a string of street concerts, daily fireworks and other surprises. Castellón is also one of the most important tourist resorts in Spain. 80% of the tourists visiting the metropolitan area of Castellón come from other regions of Spain, and that's an important enticement for foreign students of the Spanish language.
Valencia, Spain´s 3rd largest city, is easily accessible by train on a one hour ride for 4euro. Valencia is quickly growing as a tourist destination, especially with the new Arts and Science Center, the 2nd most visited attraction in Spain outside El Prado museum in Madrid. The popular fiesta ¨Las Fallas¨ is packed with visitors from all over the world for 3 weeks in March. Valencia’s famous main dish ¨paella¨ has put Valencia on the international culinary map.
Moreover, due to the ‘national’ character of tourism in the area, the students will have a far better chance of making contacts with Spanish native speakers from every Spanish region in comparison with other tourist areas like the southern coast of Andalusia, the Canary Islands or the tourist resorts of Catalonia, which are packed with foreign tourists, where English is the most spoken language.
